Who We Serve

The Spartanburg Area Mental Health provides psychiatric treatment for residents of Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties who are experiencing mental illness. SAMHC provides children, adolescents, adults, and families necessary inpatient and outpatient services which may include: emergency psychiatric services, assessments, case management, outpatient counseling, and other psychiatric treatment.

We offer a wide variety of evidence-based mental health treatment services for a broad range of problem areas to include:

  • Anxiety

  • Attention Deficit Disorder (Complicated with Significant Behavioral Problems)

  • Behavioral Problems

  • Depression

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

  • Suicide Risk

  • Thought Disorders (e.g., Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective)

  • Trauma

Our mental health center is committed to providing clinical interventions and programs that are empirically-based and proven to produce positive results. Below are some of the evidence-based practices we use on a daily basis.
