Crisis Intervention Services

The goal of CIS is the prevention of unnecessary or inappropriate hospitalizations of a person experiencing severe symptoms of a mental illness or substance related problem. SAMHC provides an array of immediate, community-based mental health crisis services to children and adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Our services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team, under the direct supervision of a mental health professional, to residents of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties. The Crisis Response Team can travel to homes or community locations in the three-county area to de-escalate situations and help individuals in crisis cope with immediate stressors.
